Felipe AlouThe 6th annual Exaltation week of the Latino Baseball Hall of Fame (Salón de la Fama del Béisbol Latino) opened yesterday Thursday February 5th with a welcome cocktail celebrated at the Hotel El Embajador in Santo Domingo. The event gathered together the great latino baseball stars of the Latino Baseball Hall of Fame Class of 2014, as well as members of the Class of 2015 who will be inducted during the Grand Exaltation Ceremony taking place at the Altos de Chavón amphitheater this Saturday February 7th in Casa de Campo. Among the honored guests and baseball celebrities was by Tom Lasorda, Roberto Kelly, Ozzie Guillen, Rafael Avila, Felipe Rojas Alou, Pedro Guerrero and Bert Campaneris, who were welcomed to the Dominican Republic and the celebrations with this cocktail party held in their honor.

Roberto Weill, president and founder of the Latino Baseball Hall of Fame, thanked those present at the event and said “this sixth exaltation will be historic because we have received tremendous support from all the press, moreover, this exalted class were great players from Latin America.” Ozzie Guillen“This exaltation is full of stars, we will have Luis González (Cuba), Nomar Garciaparra (Mexico), Roberto Kelly (Panamá), Carlos Delgado (Puerto Rico), Ozzie Guillen (Venezuela) and Pedro Martinez (Dominican Republic); this is the best of the best, ” he added. The luminaires shared with those present at the ceremony, where photographs were taken and they talked about different topics. Undoubtedly Guillen, Lasorda and Alou were among the most requested by the press. This trio of former players shared anecdotes and stories of baseball. Also taking part in the celebrations was SILGON (creators of CasaLife Magazine, Casa de Campo Living website and TODO Casa de Campo guide), who presented the latest edition of INMORTALES to the great latino legends as well as the many guests of the event. In addition to the contemporary class, also being inducted into the Latino Baseball Hall of Fame are the members of the veteran class; Alejandro Oms (Cuba), Francisco (Paquin) Estrada (Mexico), Pedro Perucho Cepeda (Puerto Rico), Jose Carrao Bracho (Venezuela) and for the Dominican Republic Luis Saint Claire (Guigui). Program of this Friday *The activities started  TODAY at 11:00 am, where the President of the Republic, Danilo Medina, received the luminaries in the National Palace, with Rob Manfred, MLB commissioner the special guest. *At 5:00 pm fans will be able to greet hand to hand their favorites players in the INMORTALIZATION Ceremony of the Class 2014. A parade will be held arounf the Central Park in La Romana, where the ceremony will also take place *The Grand Exaltation Ceremony will be held on Saturday, February 7, at Altos de Chavón Amphitheater, starting at 8:00 pm. Players and executives will be receiving special awards for their careers and contributions to the Latino baseball.
