It’s hot out there but thankfully there are plenty of ways to stay cool and refreshed. Here I share with you some easy ways to beat the heat without having to rely on bottled water or ice cream.
1. Make Spa Water.
Try adding a few pieces of your favorite garnish to the bottom of your glass, or pitcher, and add some water. Some great ones to try are cucumber, basil and lemon, grapefruit and cantaloupe.
2. Homemade sorbet.
A great, healthy treat on a hot summer day! Start by freezing your favorite fruit and puree them in a blender with a few drops of water- just enough to let it mix. I love doing this with berries or frozen mango!
3. Try coconut water.
Coconut water has the same concentration of chemicals and minerals as our blood, which makes it absolutely perfect for keeping us hydrated! The fresher, the better so if you can, just chop off the top of a young coconut and grab a straw.
4. Put together a hydrating salad.
Watermelon is about 91% water and surprisingly enough makes a delicious, simple salad. Try cutting up a watermelon into bite sized pieces and adding some fresh chopped mint.
5. Drink a green juice or smoothie.
Creating a smoothie full of hydrating fruits and veggies is a wonderful choice on a hot day! Try blending some watermelon, apple, cucumber, celery and lemon juice with a little coconut water for a refreshing pick me up!
