Golf never stops in Casa, and when you play the game you love and can help contribute to a good cause, it makes it even better! The foundation, El Ser Libre y Feliz headed by Andrés Vélez Cordero was founded earlier this year and will be celebrating their first International Golf Open on Sunday, October 23rd on the Dye Fore Golf course. The tournament will benefit the foundation’s pilot project, the Escuela de Educación Especial Padre Sebastian Cavalotto (Father Sebastian Cavalotto Special Needs School), helping more than 150 students.
El Ser Libre y Feliz International Golf Open will be played in Stableford format. There will be an opening cocktail on Saturday October 22nd at La Casita restaurant in La Marina where all participants can meet and greet and discuss the following day’s tournament. On Sunday October 23rd, a breakfast will be held for all participants at restaurant Hoyo 19 at the Dye Fore, and from 8:30am-12:30pm the tournament will take place. At the end of the game, a lunch and party will celebrate the winners of the tournament with an awards ceremony at La Casita in La Marina.

Andrés Vélez recognized the urgency to raise additional funds to improve the school infrastructure, educational program, psychological evaluation and follow up program, parent education, updated training and education for therapists, sanitary infrastructure and other areas for the children in La Romana and their families. It is important to support causes such as this one since we all play a role in cultivating an environment and culture of tolerance and respect for diversity. El Ser Libre y Feliz believes every person in the world should feel loved and accepted no matter what. When we all come together for a good cause, we can really make a difference! So sign up now and help! Remember that spots are limited to 100 players!
The tournament has the support of various companies and institutions that will be sponsoring the event including: United Nations Development Programme (PNUD-RD), National Council on Disability (CONADIS), Central Romana Corporation, Ltd., Casa de Campo Resort & Villas, Restaurante La Casita (Marina), Atlantic Motors, Productos Higüeral, Clínica Canela, Galenia Especialidades Médicas, Dom Ham, Marina Casa de Campo, Eventos y Catering, ARS Simag, Disco Patin, Grisolia & Asociados, among others.
