Last Saturday the 16th of February 2013, the Hogar del Niño fundraising weekend was underway all over Casa de Campo – with members of the community showing their support for the cause in all sorts of different ways; tennis, golf, biking….and Zumba!
The Casa de Campo Zumba team – Daniela Diazgranados, Lia Matos, Gaby Grisolia and Fefi Diazgranados – led a group of more than 50 young and hip “Zumbaistas” in a hyper-energetic Zumba Masterclass – burning calories for a good cause!
With DJ Rafael Gonzalvo on the decks and the incredible Minitas Beach as a back drop – it is quiet possible that this was one of the best Zumba Master Classes ever! You can’t beat cooling off after a hard Zumba session with a quick dip in the ocean – with a Piña Colado in hand! Now that’s the Casa de Campo life!

The Hogar del NiñoThe Hogar del Niño is a children’s daycare and educational center for over 1500 children, located in La Romana town, just outside of Casa de Campo. Children from as young as just a few weeks old up to 18 years old are cared for and educated daily, from as early as 5:30am and staying as late as 7pm. The organization also provides special schooling to over 75 hearing impaired and blind children, as well as a vocational school where over 235 students receive classes in different areas like: sewing; industrial preparation, installation and electrical maintenance; plumbing and management of computer office programs.
