After a two-year break due to the pandemic, the Los Links golf course in Casa de Campo hosted the traditional “Clásico de Semana Santa”, where the couple made up of Marcos Yunén and Raúl Linares became champions of the 2022 edition.
Yunén and Linares had a gross score of 70 strokes, 1 under par, becoming the highlight of the tournament dedicated to Ramón Antonio Olivo, in memoriam, which was organized by the Cajuiles Golf Club.
The best net result corresponded to the couple made up of César Vicioso and Edgar De León with 58 hits, 13 under par on the court. In second place were Narciso and Joel Morales with 9 under par, beating Donald Brea, father, and son, who came in third place in a tiebreaker. The fourth position corresponded to Quino Montero and José Mercedes with 63 shots.
In the special awards, trophies were given for closest to pin to Raúl Linares on the 9th hole, to Narciso Morales on the 16th hole, while the most accurate drive on the 6th hole went to Roy Galván Sr. and the longest drive was for Dury Daly on the 17th hole.
The 2022 Semana Santa Golf Classic was played in a Best Ball format in pairs, the award ceremony was held at the Club de Caza y Pezca La Romana and was sponsored by the companies Central Romana, Costasur, Casa de Campo Resort, Banco Popular , Altice Dominicana, Banreservas, SIMAG, Scotiabank, Implementos & Maquinarias IMCA, Seguros MAPFRE, Brugal, Ferquido, La Casita Marina, L&R Comercial, Productos Higueral, Cerveza Canita, Onno’s Bayahibe, Restaurante Chinois, Cocotal Golf & Country Club, J.A. García SRL, InAlert Manufacturing, among others.
