This Saturday the 12th of February, the Dominican Federation of Taekwondo (FEDOTAE) along with the World Taekweondo Peace Corps (WTPC) are performing a very special demonstration of  Taekwondo in Santo Domingo in a meet which Casa de Campo’s own gym instructor and Taekwondo master, Arquimedes de Jesus has helped to organise  – with hopes of creating lasting cultural ties with Korea through this medium.

The Peace Corps arrived in the Dominican Republic on January 26th, following the petition of Ing. Francisco Camacho, the President of FEDOTAE and Dr. Chongwon Choue, the President of the World Taekwondo Federation (WTF). And thanks to the South Korean Ambassador to the Dominican Republic, this Saturday we have the opportunity to experience this dynamic sport, which originates from Korea, and is now officially considered an Olympic sport with teams competing for the first time in the London 2012 Olympics.
