The 1st annual Christmas Boat Parade celebrated on Wednesday the 28th of December was beautiful – and the start of a very magical new holiday tradition in the Marina Casa de Campo.
From 5pm in the afternoon, Casa de Campo villa owners and residents began to gather at the newly reopened and renovated Victory Club at the end of the Paseo del Mar in the Marina Casa de Campo – where they enjoyed cocktails, nibbles and a glorious tropical sunset whilst they awaited the start of the parade.
Shortly after sunset, the parade of beautifully decorated and adorned yachts began – sailing one by one in front of the onlooking crowd as well as the panel of VIP judges which included, Corrine Gobbi, Gianfranco Fini, architect of the Marina Casa de Campo and commodore of the Casa de Campo Yacht club, among others.
As well as the principal cash prizes each winning boat were also awarded a selection of additional prizes, donated by the stores, restaurants and businesses of the Marina Casa de Campo; Vilebrequin, Kiwi Saint Tropez, Columbia, United Brands, La Enoteca, Café Juanita, La Casita de La Marina, Restaurante Limoncello, Costa Tropical and DEDON-Villa Collection.The Winners!
Following the parade, the celebration continued at the Azimut Café where a short prize-giving ceremony was held. The prize-winners of the 1st annual Christmas Boat Parade were: 1. Moon Soun – who won RD$50,000 donated by the IBC Shipyard 2. Rimar – who won RD$25,000 donated by the Marina Casa de Campo 3. Pichona 4. El Capi
