With a resounding success, WAO Gallery & Cultural Center opened its doors on Friday, September 29, to showcase the exhibition Spontaneous Abstraction by the artist José Rainer.
Twenty-four works are masterfully displayed in the main hall of WAO Gallery & Cultural Center, 23 of which are entirely digital, and a mega sculpture exhibited outside our gallery takes center stage in this exhibition. With his work, Rainer immerses us in this form of artistic expression that utilizes digital technology to create art, conveying psychological, cognitive, and social emotions to us.
Rainer’s abstract art is an embodiment of pure imagination. It beckons viewers to step into a doorway leading to an uncharted world, inviting them to become entranced by a spontaneous image that combines brilliance and provocative colors with a creative, ever-evolving experimental focus.
Prominent figures from the country’s cultural, social, and artistic spheres congregated at WAO Gallery & Cultural Center to support the artist’s venture. Notable attendees included the Minister of Culture, Mrs. Milagros German, Roberto Cavada, Tania Báez, and Gabriela Melo. Casa de Campo Resort & Villas sponsored the event.
The Patronato Benéfico Oriental, Inc. (PBO) continues its commitment to sustainable initiatives with a significant social impact aimed at promoting culture. In this vein, PBO has complemented its programs with those of WAO Chavón, encompassing the WAO Innovation HUB, WAO Gallery & Cultural Center, and the Regional Archaeological Museum Altos de Chavón in Altos de Chavón.
The exhibition will remain open until October 30, 2023, with visiting hours from Wednesday to Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Sundays and Tuesdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and closed on Mondays.
Proceeds from various projects and activities are directed towards our social programs, allowing us to replicate these initiatives in vulnerable communities as part of PBO’s community empowerment programs, fostering values aligned with our mission, such as respect, solidarity, integrity, and equal opportunities.
