teeth of the dog casa de campoOn Saturday February the 9th 2013, the Casa de Campo golfing community met the latino baseball legends of the Latino Baseball Hall of Fame and battled it out on the Teeth of the Dog in the 2nd annual INMORTALES golf tournament. teeth of the dog casa de campo A superb sunny day, the luminaries of the Latino Baseball Hall of Fame, amongst them Tony Oliva, Octavio Rojas, Teodoro Higuera, Stanley Javier,  Manny Trillo, Mariano Duncan, Benjamin Oglivie and Luis Roberto Clemente Jr. son of the great Roberto Clemente, played in a best ball format in teams of 4, with each group consisting of 1 baseball legend and 3 golfers. Following the round on the Teeth of the Dog course – opened by Pete Dye himself in 1971, making it now more than 40 years old, everyone met at the 19th Hole Bar for the prize-giving ceremony, where Tony Oliva and his team; Montgomery Reyes, Pedro Goico and José Mateo were crowned the champions. Coming in as the runners-up was the Octavio family – headed by Octavio Rojas, Latino Baseball Hall of Fame class of 2013. Whilst 3rd place was taken by the Teodoro Higuera’s team with Casa de Campo and La Romana locals; Francis Román, Homero Saviñón and Abel Ricardo González.

Special prizes for the longest drive and the “closest to the pin” were won by Stanley Javier and Toro Levine respectively.
