The Altos de Chavón Cultural Center Foundation announces the opening of the exhibition ‘”Tolerance ” on Tuesday, November 28th starting at 6:30 pm. This exhibition is a compilation of 50 designers and photographers from different parts of the world and special guest Santiago (Chago) García, Dominican artist and graduate of the Chavón School of Design.
The initial idea of this exhibition was to invite well-known artists to create posters based on their understanding of tolerance, using their mother tongue. The main condition established by the creator for this exhibit was to place all the material in a public space, where all interested parties could have free access.
“The purpose of the exhibition was not only to design posters or take pictures under the same concept, but also to bring people together and bring them closer. Artists are those who promote tolerance and peace and facilitate the process of reconciliation,” says Mirko Ilic, ideologist of Tolerance. The exhibition has traveled all over the world, and the Dominican Republic will have the opportunity to enjoy it on the campus of Chavón School of Design in Santo Domingo until January 26th, 2018.
