Well this weekend in Casa looks set to be a quiet one! Apart from the ‘Dinner and Dancing’ at RioMarina there doesn’t appear to be anything else going on – which makes it a great time to prepare for Casa de Campo Living’s upcoming activities and events; next month we have the ChiChiGua Fest 2011 on Saturday the 5th of February and the Carnaval in Casa on Saturday the 26th of February!

The ChiChiGua Fest 2011: Saturday February the 5th
Casa de Campo Living’s second annual Chichigua Fest is a family friendly event for kids of all ages to come and show off their kite flying prowess, with an expected 200+ kites taking to the skys. For those who prefer to be a little more earth bound, there will also be Frisbee, juegos inflables (inflatable games), a BBQ and a beer tent!

Carnaval en Casa: Saturday February 26th
Casa de Campo Living presents the second annual Carnaval en Casa, a wonderful street fair and celebration of the Dominican Republic’s traditional Carnaval with community ‘comparsas de carnaval’ and a Carnaval Golf Cart parade! It’s time to start planning your Caranaval Costume and getting together your ‘comparsa.’

The Tabacalera de Garcia Factory Tours The Tabacalera de Garcia is the world’s largest hand-rolled cigar factory and is open to the public for FREE tours, which take you through the many stages which go into the creation of every cigar. Tours are available Monday to Friday, between 8 am and 4 pm and Saturdays between 8am and 12pm, by appointment. Dom Ham, is a GREAT burger place, with burgers, sausage, steaks, chicken wings, tostones and fries. There is nothing fancy about Dom Ham, but the food is good! Located a mere five minutes from the gates of Casa de Campo in La Romana, one street up from the Clinica Canela (Calle Altragracia Esq. Benito Moncion.)
