The official inauguration ceremony took place on Monday the 7th of November and was an occasion of great joy and happiness for the children of the orphanage. The ceremony held in honor of David Gober, was led by Pastor Manuel Silvestre and included a blessing, a reading from the bible and most wonderful of all a performance by the talented children of the orphanage.

178 children live full time in the “Orfanato Niños de Cristo” orphanage in La Romana, who are currently raising money to complete the second phase of their new school. Money for this project is being raised with a fundraising dinner, called “Alegria del Mar”, which will be on Saturday November the 19th at Casa Alegre (Punta Aguila #11 and #12), a magnificent oceanside Casa de Campo villa and the evening will include dinner dancing and entertainment!
