El Hogar del Niño is a blessed institution, making a difference in the lives of La Romana youth with various educational programs thanks to countless contributions and support, which they receive from celebrities as well as from the greater Casa de Campo community.

Last Tuesday the 3rd of March, the Hogar del Niño was very happy and grateful to receive Diana Llavona, president of the National Honor Society (NHS) of the St. Michael School in Santo Domingo, who not only visited the facilities but also donated over 300 bags/cans of milk for the Café de La Leche program collected during a “milk drive” held at her school, which benefits 200 babies in Hogar del Niño’s crib room.

The little ones were excited, happy and grateful for the presence of Miss. Llavona who read books, talked and played with them during their visit. The tour around the entire daycare and educational center in La Romana was done by Xiomara Menédez Dajer and community member Idarmis Cucurullo de Velázquez who were very happy with the initiative taken by Miss. Llavona. “We thank Miss Llavona, president of the NHS, and all its members for their initiative and the coordination of this great collection of milk carried out at their school in Santo Domingo and also for coming personally to the delivery.”

We hope this motivates more schools to have their own “milk drives”, and help support the Hogar del Niño’s wonderful cause!
