Recently, the Josee Ignacio Foundation in conjunction with Orange Foundation celebrated the 3rd Graduation Ceremony for the Community Training Program held in La Romana, offering a brighter and productive future for the disabled and young people with scarce resources.

The Jose Ignacio Foundation which was founded in year 2007 as a non-profit organization that through the hardwork and efforts made by its founder (Jose Ignacio Morales) for the last 34 years has provided education for children in La Romana, allowing them to take tecnical courses with the aim of allowing them to become hardworking and productive people in the future.

Starting with the little ones who work in the streets as shoe shinners, windshield cleaners and random sellers of goods, Jose Ignacio started offering them classes at his workshop, among many other types of jobs, that have gradually helped develop the poorer areas of La Romana.

Workshop for the ladies!

Simultaneously, the Orange Foundation which belongs to the France Telecom Group (Communications industry), with their particular aim of creating tight bonds between people and establishing a better communication between them, through their extensive Social Responsability programs they have set their own goal of minimizing barriers/obstacles for the poorer areas as well as increasing their participation in society.

This benefits our disabled community who are now becoming more productive as they implement new programs based on the use of new technologies for those who suffer from Autism, as well as for the blind and deaf, among many others.

Congratulations to both foundations for the spectacular job they’ve done and continue to do for the Dominican Republic’s development!
