The annual Hogar del Niño Polo Tournament, celebrated as part of the Hogar del Niño fundraising weekend will this year be celebrated from the 6th to the 15th of February – with the participation of 7 teams, all funds raised destined to the Hogar del Niño charity and ending with the grand final and celebration on Friday the 15th of February at 4pm – an occasion not to be missed!
Participating in the tournament are 28 fine Dominican and international polo players, including Dennis Santana generally considered to be the Dominican Republic’s best player and Casa de Campo Director of Polo Calixto Garcia-Velez, Mauricio Bogaert a new young player who has just returned to Casa de Campo having graduated college and Pedro Pablo Cabrera who at just 16 years old will be the youngest player competing. Also taking part are many well-known players from Santo Domingo and Casa de Campo such as Leo Matos, Luis A Carbuccia, Luis A Paniagua and Julio Lopez, among many others.
With such an impressive collection of polo players, spectators can expect to see some fast-paced, exciting and passionate polo on our Casa de Campo polo fields – with commentary provided by Dr. Jose Lopez, Health Vice President of Central Romana and Director of the Centro Médico.

The winner of the tournament will be decided on Friday the 15th of February – during the finals scheduled to take place at 4pm. Following the finals a prize-giving ceremony and cocktail hosted by the Hogar del Niño will be celebrated!
Spectators are welcome to attend and enjoy all games.
The final of the Hogar del Niño polo tournament was among the first activities of the hugely successful Hogar del Niño fundraising weekend 2012 which took place on Friday and Saturday the 17th and 18th of February, an exciting game which Casa de Campo’s villa owners and supporters of the cause enjoyed at sunset with a few glasses of champagne – the perfect start to the weekend!
