The Fundación MIR’s “The Voice” contest was celebrated on Monday the 24th of Octuber, with the participation of talented students from three different programs competing for the first three places! The Fundación MIR celebrated their 3rd annual “Voice Festival” with the collaboration of the Ministry of Culture at their girl’s school the “Tecnico Vocacional”, where hundreds of young and talented boys and girls enjoyed a day of dancing, singing and good music!
With the slogan “Vive la Cultura en tu Escuela” (Live the culture of your school), the students of the Fundación MIR schools; the Básica MIR, Politécnico MIR Esperanza and Escuela Técnico Vocacional MIR, were evaluated by Luisa María Ortiz Guzmán, one of the judges of this competittion, as well as the provisional director of the Ministry of Culture, also a well-known to song-writer and singer.
Below are the winners of the first three places in this Third Voice Festival:

“Politécnico MIR Esperanza”:

Second Place: Defry Lagrule
Third Place: José Fontanilla
As a prize, these talented students will be receiving free music lessons in the Centro Cultural BoMana as part of their Inclusive and Multicultural Artistic Education Program. Together, these three schools located in La Romana, provide education to 1,138 boys and girls.

The Fundacion MIR is a non-profit organization which works to provide education to the children of the greater La Romana area, who are most in need. They run 3 schools; the MIR Esperanza (boys vocational school), the Escuela Tecnica Vocacional Fundacion MIR (girls vocational school) and the Primaria MIR (infants school).
