The Fundacion Casa de La Cultura in La Romana is inviting all of you this Tuesday September 1st, to experience the Musou Band all the way from Taiwan!

The name “Musou” means unique or precious beyond comparison. The Musou Band is Taiwan’s first all girl band in traditional Chinese music.
The band was created on December 2008 by the Taiwanese composer Liu Shueh-Shuan. The band’s artistic director is Wang Ming-Hua, who is also part of the Taiwanese national orchestra and she plays the Ehru.
The band members are 10 beautiful ladies all coming from music departments from different universities in Taiwan. The band is made up of different string, wind and percussion instruments and their style is a combination of symphony, pop music and electronica. It’s simply a unique and original mix which goes where traditional music has never gone before.

El nombre “Musou”, significa único o precioso, sin ninguna comparación. La Orquesta de música “Musou” de Taiwán, es la primera banda musical conformada sólo por mujeres que cruza el campo de la música china tradicional.
La banda fue fundada en diciembre del año 2008 por el compositor taiwanés Liu Shueh-Shuan. La directora artística de la banda es la señora Wang Ming-Hua, quien es la principal ejecutora en la orquesta nacional de música de Taiwán, ejecuta el instrumento Erhu.
La Orquesta Musou está integrada por 10 miembros, todas ellas pertenecientes a los departamentos de música de diferentes universidades en Taiwán. La Banda está compuesta por instrumentos de percusión e instrumentos de viento que incluyen: las flautas “Liu-gin”, “Yang-gin”, “Zhong-ruan”, “Gu-zheng”, “Erhu”.
Los instrumentos se complementan con las bellas voces de las integrantes. El estilo de ejecución musical de la Banda, es una combinación de sinfonías, música pop y música electrónica. Es una creación única y original que va más allá del campo de la música china tradicional.
