papa jacks remodelled, altos de chavon design school It seems like just yesterday when the Papa Jack’s disco was remodelled and now the Papa Jacks lounge has been redone – by the students of the Fine Arts division of the Altos de Chavon Design School. Here, Raul Miyar the teacher of the Fine Arts class explains what the pupils were asked to do:
All the Fine Arts students were given the task of submitting a design proposal for the interior of Papa Jack’s understanding that the new look needed to be more ‘sophisticated’ yet still playful, giving a more integrated feel to the separate spaces within the bar and creating a warmer, more welcoming ‘Irish Pub’ sort of feel. The entire Fine Arts class (21 students) worked very hard to complete the entire project in one weekend (May 15, 16) and the new interior is a result of a compilation of six different Fine Arts students’ proposals under my supervision and direction.
The following are photos of the pupil’s work in Papa Jacks.
