Beginning December 2009 guests vacationing at Casa de Campo, the 7,000-acre sports playground known as the best resort in the Caribbean, can experience 80 new Elite Hotel Rooms and Elite Suites with luxury amenities and high-tech features. In addition, the hotel main area will be completely re-designed and re-built to introduce a contemporary concept which will include the lobby, a fine dining restaurant, lounge bar, fitness center, library, boutique, business center and main pool area. The total investment for this first refurbishment phase is in excess of $20 million dollars.
The Elite Rooms and Elite Suites designed by Dominican native Patricia Reid will have a stylish new feel of elegant fabrics, mahogany wood furniture and louvered patio doors in chic Caribbean style. The bathroom area has been enlarged to accommodate a separate shower with golf course view, bathtub, his/hers vanity, and large walk-in closet. Guests will also enjoy features such as 42” LCD flat screen TV with Blu-Ray Disc player and cable, alarm clock radio with dual dock for iPod and iPhone, high-speed wireless internet, in-room amenities by L’Occitane, mini-bar with espresso/coffee machine, in addition to fun features such as a touring cart included with each room.
In the new main area, Dominican designer Mayra Gonzalez and Arq. Rafael Selman takes full advantage of the natural beauty of the Caribbean with a minimalist approach utilizing Coralina stone with rich oak woods in grand open spaces blended with water features. The new restaurant will consist of both indoor and al fresco dining, while the main pool area will boast three pools, trellised platforms for early morning and late afternoon yoga classes, and shaded seating areas of natural woods and white canopies and cushions.
