carnaval marina casa de campo

On Saturday the 25th of February, the colors, sights and sounds of the “Carnaval Dominicano” are coming to the Marina Casa de Campo for the “Carnaval de la Marina”.

Starting from 4:30pm in the afternoon the “Carnaval de la Marina” will consist of a variety of carnaval groups (comparsas); from La Romana and Casa de Campo, La Vega (from the most famous Dominican Carnival “Carnaval Vegano”) and from Santo Domingo, who will parade through the Marina Casa de Campo passing through the “Avenida de la Marina”, the “Calle Barlovento” shopping boulevard, the “Paseo del Mar” pier, as well as the “Plaza Portofino.”

The first Carnaval to be celebrated in the Marina Casa de Campo, the “Carnaval en Casa” took place in February 2010 and was organized by ourselves Casa de Campo Living – a fabulously fun event with the participation of a local La Romana comparsa (carnaval group), a Casa de Campo community comparsa (remember “Las Lamparas”?), as well as numerous Casa de Campo villa owners who dressed up in a magnificent variety of carnaval costumes and masks to join the fun! Sadly the Carnaval planned to take place in February 2011 had to be cancelled (much to our disappointment and that of the community) and so now we are thrilled that the Marina Casa de Campo has decided to recreate this fabulous festival!

The organisation of the “Carnaval de la Marina” is being headed by Ricardo Bello with the Maestro Dagoberto Tejeda and of course the support of the Marina Casa de Campo administration.

Each year the “Carnaval de la Marina” will be dedicated to a different Dominican Carnaval personalities and this year the “Guloyas” will be honored.

UPDATE: For those of you who love parties, specially on a Saturday night, the “Carnaval de la Marina” will be having an after party at the remodelled Victory Club in La Marina Casa de Campo!
