The Association of Industries of the Dominican Republic (AIRD) posthumously recognized engineer Eduardo Martínez Lima with the Industrial Merit Award, during an emotional act led by President Luis Abinader at the 7th edition of the awards to the Dominican Industry.
Eduardo Martínez Lima, a chemical engineer by profession, dedicated more than 54 years of his life working for the Central Romana Corporation sugar company, in which he reached the position of Executive Vice President. He passed away in July 2021, at the age of 80.
The posthumous recognition to the engineer Martínez Lima highlights his spirit of industrial innovation, his great dedication, his work ethic, and his great sense of social sensitivity that directly impacted thousands of collaborators.
The award was received by his wife Jeannette Gonzalvo de Martínez-Lima accompanied by their children Johanna, Eduardo, and Alejandro. It was delivered by President Luis Abinader; Mr. Celso Juan Marranzini, President of AIRD; and Circe Almanzar, Executive Vice President of AIRD.
In his words of gratitude on behalf of the Martínez-Lima Gonzalvo family, his son Eduardo stated: “As a businessman, he always thought about the future; of how to grow through diversification and achieve the improvement of the quality of life of its employees. As a father, he left us a legacy of tireless work, ethics, and love for the family,” he affirmed.
