One of the most important golf championships in the Caribbean had its magical closure last Saturday, August 20th with the victory of the Argentine Aram Yenidjeian among the professionals. The eighth edition of Pro-Am Latin America, which was played at Teeth of the Dog and Dye Fore, two of Pete Dye’s jewels at Casa de Campo Resort & Villas, had a record number of participants.

Yenidjeian is the second Argentine in a row to with the Pro-Am Latin America after the victory of Alan Wagner in 2021. The 2022 champion added 161 shots (Stableford modality) and surpassed Gilberto Barrionuevo of Puerto Rico by 6, who led the winning team in the Champions Cup Pro-Am category together with amateurs Edgar Torres, Carlos Pichardo, David Mora, and Jesús Rodríguez, with -78. The team of the professional Miguel Suárez and amateurs Abdelkader Abuosba, Israel Avilés, Arturo González, and Richard Martínez, won second place with -67.

“It was a very fun week, the place is spectacular, and playing here is always a pleasure. I got to know Casa de Campo at the last Latin America Amateur Championship and although I didn’t play my best golf on that occasion, I really enjoyed it. Winning this tournament always gives a different impetus for what comes in my career”, said the young Argentine, who just a couple of months ago played the PGA TOUR LA Dev Series finals (he finished 29th .)

“We had an unforgettable week, it was the best edition of the championship with a record number of entries, a very good field of professionals, and a lot of camaraderie, which is the essence of this event. Everyone was able to enjoy each of the attractions that Casa de Campo has, the golf courses were in perfect condition and I only received great comments from the players. I want to thank everyone for participating, the sponsors and obviously, everyone is invited to the 2023 edition,” said Manuel Relancio, Head Pro of Casa de Campo Resort & Villas.

The next big event on the golf calendar at the #1 resort in the Caribbean is the 41st edition of the Casa de Campo Open from September 14-18, the flagship event for fans in the region.
