The 8th annual “Occidental Trophy 13” to be played this Saturday at La Romana Country Club

This Saturday the 20th of July 2013, the 8th annual golf tournament “Occidental Trophy 13” will be played on the La Romana Country Club golf course in Casa de Campo. Hosted by Occidental Hotels & Resorts, the invitational will unite the executives of many Dominican-based companies, members of the diplomatic service – such as the consul for the United Kingdom Steve Morgan, as well as numerous Dominican golf enthusiasts. The tournament will be played in a “Stableford” format with prizes awarded in 3 categories for the men and a single category for the lady golfers. There will also be prizes for the “Hole in One”, “Longest Drive” and “Closest to the pin”. As the majority of competitors will be travelling to Casa de Campo from Santo Domingo, the prize-giving ceremony and dinner will be celebrated the following Saturday the 26th of July in the Garden Tent of the Occidental El Embajador hotel in Santo Domingo. Amongst the golfers of this tournament will be myself (Rebecca Hughes) and Philip Silvestri, CEO and President of Silgon Inc. – and after our recent golf lessons with Eric Lillibridge, I’m sure we’ll be good enough for it not to be a complete disaster!
