From Thursday, April 21st through to Sunday, April 24th, the annual “MIR Sugar Bazaar” at the La Romana Country Club in Casa de Campo was open for business, raising funds to support the Fundación MIR’s schools in La Romana, with the “Ladies Luncheon” hosted by Lian Fanjul de Azqueta founder of the Fundación MIR attracting quite a crowd on Saturday afternoon. While golf teams were out on the greens, and Casa de Campo villa owners, friends, and family enjoyed shopping for gifts, accessories, jewelry, and clothes the La Romana Country Club catered another beautiful Luncheon and Fashion Show benefiting the MIR Foundation. There are few things in life better than shopping, food, and fashion shows and this luncheon combined all three!

Fashion show and Luncheon

While the very stylish Casa de Campo ladies filled the room, the girls and boys from the MIR foundation got dressed and prepared to strut their stuff on the runway that weaved through luncheon tables and the clubhouse. Guests enjoyed a salad assortment, choices of salmon or meat, stand-out potatoes, and a delicious dessert assortment at the end. The little ones, students of Abraham Lincoln School and children of many of Casa de Campo’s families, modeled beautifully tailored clothes by El Faldellin by Surelis whilst the girls and boys of the Fundación MIR modeled designs from holse.e including one-of-a-kind dresses, and unique men’s clothing. The styles, materials, and cuts all varied, and each piece had its own outstanding flare.  We had such a great time we’re already looking forward to next year! Special thanks to our hostess for the beautiful event!
