On Saturday, February 22, the traditional thank-you dinner for the generous donors of the Phyllis Berney Adopt-A-Crib Program, benefiting the Hogar del Niño, was held. The event, organized by Mrs. Xiomara Menéndez and her husband Ramón at La Marina Riverside, Casa de Campo, brought together supporters committed to ensuring the well-being and education of over 2,000 children.

Founded in 1998 by Mrs. Phyllis Berney, the program has become the primary source of income for the center, enabling the continuation of its essential services such as nutrition, medical care, psychological support, and innovative education with a technological focus. Thanks to this initiative, the Hogar del Niño has expanded and improved its facilities, establishing itself as the most comprehensive educational and social center in the Dominican Republic.

Over 27 years, the program has raised more than US$24.3 million, with over US$2 million contributed in the last year alone. Inspired by Mrs. Berney’s vision, who stated that “Hogar del Niño is the heartbeat that gives hope for the future,” donors have enabled thousands of children to receive the care and quality education they deserve.
The event was decorated with an elegant masquerade theme, with guests wearing masks and accessories in line with the theme. The music was provided by a merengue orchestra, adding to the festive atmosphere. Additionally, a wide buffet with a variety of delicious dishes was offered.
