Family Programs in Casa de Campo is the department in charge of organizing fun and entertaining activities for the whole family. During the summer they host their annual summer camp with lots of cool things for kids, but the fact that summer has ended doesn’t mean all the entertaining activities have to end too! This autumn, they are hosting Taekwondo and Swimming lessons for kids!

Taekwondo

Classes are taught by Arquímedes de Jesus, who is the director of the Dominican Republic Taekwondo Federation and who, up until a few years ago, had been teaching the martial art for over 25 years at the Casa de Campo Hotel Fitness Center. Taekwondo is practiced by many athletes across the world, and young boys and girls have the opportunity of learning its multiple, dynamic techniques right here in the resort. It’s also a wonderful opportunity for youth to meet new friends and have a good time!

With Taekwondo, children can expect to show improvements in the following areas*:

Enhanced self-esteem by heightening their physical and mental abilities.

Self confidence by encouraging success and taking control of life situations.

Discipline by thoroughly training their minds and bodies in the challenging techniques of Taekwondo.

Self defense by training participants to recognize situations where physical self-defense may be necessary, and teaching them how to control situations to their advantage.

Mind and body strengthening through increased physical coordination and mental discipline.

Swimming

Classes are taught by Rafael Viscioso who has also been teaching in Casa de Campo for quite some time. With vast experience in the field, we’ve heard of several children who’ve taken classes with him learning right away and with great form. Swimming is also an excellent workout, requiring all muscle groups to move against the resistance of water.

Among the many benefits, you’ll find*:

Swimming is a sport children can continue for the rest of their lives.

It provides a fun and entertaining way to stay fit.

Teaches important safety skills to preventing drowning.

Provides cardiovascular activity that promotes heart and lung health and prevents obesity.

Improves stamina, flexibility, strength, balance and posture.

Don’t let your kids miss the opportunity to learn from some of Casa de Campo’s best instructors. Being healthy and active is so important for children. Plus, not only will they gain significant learning skills and exercise habits, but they’ll also have a chance to meet new friends in an exciting way. See the flyers below to sign-up!
