Following a few glasses of champagne (me) and a few Chivas on the rocks (Philip) at the Semana Santa edition of the Sunset Jazz Night at the Azimut Café, Philip Silvestri and I decided to head up to Altos de Chavón for a wander about – and discovered that new restaurant “The Club” was open!
And so always curious – Philip Silvestri and I, headed down the steps of the old “Casa del Rio” and into “The Club”, where the classic old-world structure of the building (with the magnificent view of the Chavón river) had been lighten and brightened with a fresh and crisp brown, white and red color scheme. Very nice indeed.
As The Club’s very first customers we were greeted by the manager, who took us on a little tour of the restaurant – which will eventually include a deck with an outside sitting area, as well as also spread into the neighbouring building – formally “Giacosa” restaurant.
Unable to resist trying something new and delicious, Philip and I were persuaded to sit down and try something. The rib eye steak cooked on The Club’s very own traditional Argentine grill, and served with salad and mashed potatoes, accompanied by a glass or 2 of their house red wine (which was excellent), this discovery made for the perfect end to a great evening.
