This Sunday the 6th of February we have the Super Bowl to look forward to, which thanks to Oneburger, their 10% discount for villa owners and their 47 inch plasma screen TVs in Casa de Campo´s ONLY airconditioned sports bar – will be an occasion we can all enjoy (even if you´re not a huge football fan!)
The Super Bowl, which is the championship game of the National Football League (NFL), will be played this Sunday at 7:30PM (Dominican time) between the Green Bay Packers and the Pittsburg Steelers and is, as far as American Football is concerned the biggest event of the year!
For football fans and their reluctant girlfriends/wives/partners THE place to enjoy the Super Bowl in Casa de Campo this Sunday will be Oneburger, who have prepared some SUPER Oneburger Super Bowl specials to be enjoyed whilst watching the football and will be organizing a ‘Box Board’ Super Bowl Sweepstake for the gamblers amongst you!
Here´s my summary of all they have on offer:
1. The Super Bowl on BIG screens.
The only way to appreciate and enjoy the Super Bowl is on a BIG Screen! Oneburger will be playing the game on it´s 2 big plasma screen TV´s inside Oneburger, which is fully airconditioned (for your viewing pleasure). In addition, the game will be shown on a large screen to be enjoyed from the Oneburger terrace outside (this super large screen is to be shared with Papa Jacks).
2. The Oneburger Super Bowl Sweepstake (US$5)
The Oneburger Super Bowl Sweepstake will be based on a ‘box board’ – like the one shown here. Boxes will be sold for US$5 each and the score at the end of each quarter will determine who wins the money! For instance in the diagram here, the winner of the money is shown in the orange box with the line through it – that person won because at the end of a quarter the score was 7-7. Hard to explain – fun to play!!
3. Delicious Roast Pig: The Onepigskin (RD$150)
For the Superb Bowl, Oneburger will be roasting a whole pig in a Caja China (the very best way to roast a pig to make sure it’s juicy and it’s skin is crispy) and will be serving the pig in burger buns – thus creating the Onepigskin; Crispy lechon, Manchego cheese, Lightly caramelized onion, Mojo criollo – what could possibly be more delicious!!!!
(NOTE: For those of you who dont know ‘crispy lechon’ is crispy pig skin)
It would be impossible to enjoy the Super Bowl without delicious food and snacks!
4. BEERS! The One6pack (6 beers): (US$16)
In the US as in England and of course the Dominican Republic, watching football with beer in your hand is an absolute MUST! Oneburger understands that re-ordering or waiting for more beer during the game would massively interfere with our viewing pleasure and so will be serving beers by the bucket (full of ice to keep them cool of course) – with 6 Presidente beers in a beer bucket for only US$16!
5. Chicken Wings: 12 for RD$200!
Everyone loves chicken wings – delicious, crispy, messy bites of yumminess and they are of course the most traditional food to eat during any football game and so no Super Bowl would be complete with out them!
