The 26th Annual Sugar Golf Tournament, headed by Alfy Fanjul took place in Casa de Campo from the 13th to the 16th of April a golf tournament and 4 day celebration, which came to a successful close on Saturday evening the 16th of April with a little shopping at the MIR Bazaar, dinner, dancing and a prize giving ceremony at the La Romana Country Club.

Following three days of golf and 3 nights of cocktails and dinners the golfers and various other guests of the Sugar Open Golf Tournament turned out for a 4th night in a row, for the events biggest party – the prize-giving ceremony. With 242 male competitors and 56 female, a total of 398 golfers took part in the contest, so when added together with all their guests that made for a rather large and fun party with easily more than 600 people filling the La Romana Country Club. Throughout this fun evening, guests enjoyed a buffet dinner and drinks, whilst Alfy Fanjul accompanied by his daughters Krista Ryan and Lilian Fernández presented the tournaments victors with their prizes and trophies.

The ‘MIR Bazaar’ a 3-day bazaar laid out in the La Romana Country Clubs main club house, is a fantastic shopping opportunity for the ladies of Casa de Campo, with a portion of the proceeds being donated to the Fundacion MIR. The Bazaar opened on Thursday, but stayed open late during the Saturday evening celebration attracting many of the event’s guests to do a little extra shopping! Whilst, on Saturday afternoon, Lian Fanjul de Azqueta hosted a ‘Ladies Luncheon’ as part of the MIR Bazaar – photos of this coming soon! What a wonderful night!
