On Friday March 27th, Casa de Campo villa owner, Rolando Gonzalez-Bunster and his lovely wife Monica hosted a magnificent Argentine BBQ and pizza dinner for the guests of the 30th annual Casa de Campo Sugar golf tournament.
One of the favorite gathering of the most prestigious golf tournament of the Casa de Campo golfing calendar, we were all thrilled to see the return of this gathering, which did not take place last year due to the date coinciding with the wedding of Rolando’s daughter, Carolina Gonzalez-Bunster. Welcoming this celebration back to the Casa de Campo Sugar golf tournament made the evening even more magical.
And so it was at 9pm that the more than 400 glamorous guests, both golfers, guests and partners arrived at the Gonzalez-Bunster home ready for yet another fun evening, the beautiful burnt orange villa the perfect setting for an elegantly relaxed evening of celebrations.
As has been the tradition for many years, the party began with cocktails served on the terrace around the pool. Accompanying the cocktails and chatter was the famous “Churri-pan” – a delicious hotdog made with chorizo sausage, something which presents quiet a dilemma – too delicious to turn down, but with no delicate way to eat it – the only solution being to dig in and enjoy along with everyone else doing the same! The freshly baked pizza presented the same irristably delicious problem.
Food was served “buffet style” directly from the BBQ area, and at tables circling the pool, we ate, drank and made merry, until it was time for our golfers to head home and prepare for the final day of the tournament.
Congratulations to the Gonzalez-Bunster family for hosting yet another magnificent gathering.
