Marina Casa de Campo fashion showThe Marina Fashion Show last Friday the 15th of November at the “Plaza Victory” in the Marina Casa de Campo, was the perfect combination of fashion, fun and philanthropy.

Now in it’s second year, the Marina Fashion Show raised funds for the Orfanato Niños y Niñas de Cristo orphanage in La Romana, who not only look after but also educate 164 orphans from babies to teenagers. On the catwalk were the multi-national contestants of the Miss Multiverse beauty pageant, who were in the Dominican Republic taking part in a number of events, including this fashion show, as well as the final competition, which took place last Saturday at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Punta Cana. The girls then strutted their stuff in a variety of fashions found in the stores of the Marina Casa de Campo; Kiwi Saint Tropez, Poupette St Barth, Rubillona Collection, Azzurro, Optimax and Art Arena, among others. In addition to the show, hosted by Hilda Peguero and Linda of the Miss Multiverse pageant, an auction was held to raise even more money for this beautiful cause. An Orefici watch donated by Optimax raised US$450, while a pair of SWIMS shoes donated by ERH Marine raised an additional US$200. ERH Marine also showed their support for the cause by adding a touch of extra glamor to the set-up with a Pershing 64 and Ferretti 620 on display. The Orfanato Niños de Cristo always has the support and help of many of our Casa de Campo community members, such as Orietta Citati and Lou Gilmore, whose love and support of this cause has now been constant for many years. Both members of the community, as well as numerous other supports of the cause, were of course present at the show, beaming with pride over the performance of both the children and the professional models, who all did an amazing job. The night ended with an announcement of a day trip to Palmilla for all the children of the Orphanage, donated by the Dominican – Italian Chamber of Commerce. The icing on the cake for this very special occasion – and no doubt a cause for great excitement among the little ones!
