Heard about the art exhibit “Natividad: Santos de Palo de Bonao” but didn’t have the chance to enjoy it or maybe did have the chance to see it but couldn’t come back to purchase some of these magnificent pieces of art? In any of these cases, we’ve got great news for you!  Although the new art exhibit “Artist in Residence” has been inaugurated recently in the Altos de Chavón art gallery, the art exhibit ” Natividad: Santos de Palo de Bonao”, is still available on the 2nd floor of this artistic center!

Given that the Christmas holidays are just around the corner, and now is an excellent ocassion to think about what we could buy for family and friends, what could be a better option than purchasing a gift that not only is a wonderful souvenir for this time of the year, but also a representative piece of the Dominican Republic’s culture and traditions?

As well as the “Artists in Resident” exhibit by Irene Rodríguez and Diego CiruIsidro currently being displayed, everybody’s is also invited to enjoy this wonderful “Natividad” art exhit on the 2nd floor –  with carved pieces of wood representing Ana important aspect of the religious, social, artistic and cultural history of the Dominican Republic – each created with the aim (and with the help of the Falcondo Foundation) to rescue the important tradition of carving the “Santos de Palo”, as well as supporting the development of the market and increase the income of artists in the Monseñor Nouel! region of the Dominican Repúblic.

So if you haven’t done so yet, head on up to Altos de Chavon to enjoy and do some Christmas shopping of thes beautiful carved pieces of art! Below we share all the details of both art exhibits which are currently available at the Altos de Chavón gallery:
