minitas beach

In creating the last issue of TODO Casa de Campo we discovered that Stand Up Paddle Boarding (SUP) and Windsurfing are now available at Minitas Beach! And as this was news to us, we thought it best to let you know in case you hadn’t yet heard about it!

Casa de Campo’s private Minitas Beach has always been awesome for relaxing with a Piña Colada or for enjoying a delicious seafood lunch from the Beach Club by Le Cirque – but now with the added addition of Stand Up Paddle Boarding (US$18 for 30mins) and Windsurfing (US$22 for 30mins) it’s now cooler than ever!

As it happens Philip Silvestri and I (Rebecca Hughes) actually tried out Stand Up Paddle Boarding on Minitas Beach more than a year ago with our friends from Bayahibe SUP – and had a great time! The calm water close to the shore is perfect for practice paddling and once we were steady we paddled out beyond the rocks and around the “Bahia Minitas” neighborhood to the left hand side of the beach – an incredible opportunity to enjoy the beautiful blue ocean and to admire the magnificent villas in this area from a unique ocean view – especially Punta Minitas #34.

Unfortunately we’ve not yet had chance to try Stand Up Paddle Boarding or Windsurfing since it officially came to Minitas Beach – but as a BIG fan – I have every intention to give it a go very soon! Look out for a “Casa de Campo Living Review” soon!

Never tried Stand Up Paddle Boarding or Windsurfing? No worries! Minitas Beach not only offers rental of the equipment but also water sports classes for just US$31 for 30mins.

Bayahibe SUP! A great way to get to know the beautiful Bayahibe coast is on a Paddle Board Surfari (US$40) – something offered by our friends at Bayahibe SUP in Bayahibe. Click here to read more about Bayahibe SUP.
