CasaLife magazine

We are thrilled to announce the arrival of the most recent edition of CasaLife, a special edition celebrating Dominican art… and certainly one of our best editions ever – thanks to the collaboration a number of very talented artists of the Casa de Campo community.

First of all we must thank Lauren Llenas, the exceptionally talented photographer who did the outstanding photography for our spreads on the Casa de Campo villa of Gianfranco Fini as well as on Dominican artist, Fernando Tamburini.

Fernando Tamburini

Our 2-page feature on Italian architect Gianfranco Fini and his fascinating contemporary-style villa, which he considers a museum first and a home second, portrays a fascinating insight into a truly unique and unusual Casa de Campo villa. Meanwhile our interview with Fernando Tamburini is easily as visual stunning as the colourful Caribbean art he is well-known for. A big thank you to both Gianfranco Fini and Fernando Tamburini for their participation, and again to Lauren for the images that make both pieces really “pop”.

Our gratitude continues with Stephan Kaplan, dean of studies at the Altos de Chavón School of Art and Design. When planning a special Dominican art issue of CasaLife, there really was only one person to turn to, and that was Stephen. It is Stephen who introduced us to Tania Marmolejo, an extraordinary illustration and fine arts graduate of the Altos de Chavón School of Design, whose mesmerising painting “The sweet lie” illuminates the cover. In our interview with Tania we get to know the girl behind those enigmatic round eyes that are the focus of so many of her paintings.

Of course a Dominican art issue would not have been complete without including the Altos de Chavón School of Design itself. This incredible school, founded over 30 years ago, has a long rich history graduating more than two thousand art and design students. iIt is this history, as well as the school and the students that we discover in this edition of CasaLife magazine.

As in all editions of CasaLife, this most recent edition, brings us the very best Casa de Campo events and activities. In this issue we bring you memories of the most recent philanthropic occasions; the Cartier Cocktail hosted by Emilia and Pepe Fanjul at Casa Grande; the Magical Splendor for Life fashion show for the Fundación MIR with Ángel Sánchez, also at Casa Grande, and hosted by Raysa and Alfy Fanjul; as well as the Hogar del Niño fundraising weekend.

Additional social gatherings include the extravagant New Year’s Eve parties hosted by Sergio and Corinne Gobbi, as well as the Fanjul family;  the premier of Cristo Rey in Santo Domingo; the holiday party of the Silvestri family; the wedding of Alex Yaryura to Desiree Cabral and the CasaLife “Something Special” party at The Club in Altos de Chavón.

In this, as in all editions of CasaLife, you’ll find ‘Luxury Lifestyle’ features on shopping, fashion, automobiles and yachts, such as an insight into the new Phantom Drophead Coupé, a fine example of the Rolls Royce philosophy of creating automotive art.
