Under the midday sun, with the imposing view of the Dye Fore terrace as a backdrop, the “ALMA Casa de Campo: Spanish Fair” formally began. The event, which runs through Nov. 22, kicked off with the strategic networking session aimed at solidifying commercial relationships.

The exclusive cocktail gathering brought together a significant number of Dominican and Spanish business executives, fulfilling the vision of founders Cuchy Pérez and Susana Deleito. Their mission is to transport rich Iberian traditions to the heart of the Caribbean while strengthening cultural and commercial bonds between the two countries.

Guests enjoyed cocktails and hors d’oeuvres while engaging in high-level discussions focused on exploring bilateral investment opportunities.

The highlight of the afternoon came from Francisco Pérez Menéndez, president of the Official Chamber of Commerce of Spain. During his address, he surprised the audience with a technological anecdote that validated the gathering’s purpose.

“I searched on ChatGPT for the ideal place to invest right now, and its genuine and direct answer was: the Dominican Republic,” Pérez Menéndez said

This digital revelation set the stage for a deeper analysis. Both Pérez Menéndez and prominent attorney César Rodríguez emphasized why the nation is a privileged destination for foreign capital. They cited three key factors:

  • Legal Security: A robust legal framework that protects the investor.
  • Incentives: Facilities and benefits granted by the state.
  • Return on Investment (ROI): Rates that are highly competitive within the region.

Both speakers supported their arguments by citing real-world success stories, injecting confidence and optimism among the economic leaders in attendance.

The networking session was merely the prelude to a vibrant weekend. The ALMA experience continues with a high-profile itinerary:

  • Friday, Nov. 21 (Gala of Stars): The evening will feature the Official Gala Dinner and a flamenco showcase. Attendees will enjoy a menu and dessert designed personally by three-Michelin-star chef Ramón Freixa. The night will conclude with a performance by flamenco virtuoso Miguel Poveda.
  • Saturday, Nov. 22 (The Seville Fair): The weekend culminates with an authentic recreation of the Seville Fair. The polo field will be transformed with traditional booths (casetas), Andalusian costumes, and gourmet gastronomy. The celebration will feature live performances by Los Bomberay and Carretera y Manta, bringing the vitality of Andalusia to the Caribbean.
