The Argentine group Soda Stereo successfully presented its presentation in Altos de Chavón of the farewell tour “Gracias totales”, turning the artists’ village into the epicenter of rock. The concert full of energy and good vibes is their way of thanking their fans for the successes that have marked their career and honoring the memory of the legendary Gustavo Ceratí.
After a postponement in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, more than four thousand fans emotionally sang in unison the most important hits of the band in a show that lasted almost two hours, and that brought together the members of the band Zeta Bosio and Charly Alberti, along with Richard Coleman, Zorrito Von Quintiero, Roly Ureta and Simón Bosio, with the special participation on the stage of other artists of great repercussion in Latin America, such as Robi Draco Rosa, Andrea Echeverri, from Aterciopelados, and Rubén Albarrán, vocalist of Café Tacvba. Each one, with its unique energy, caused the public to join them in song with renewed energy.
With 400-square-meter screens throughout the stage, an audiovisual that emphasized the nostalgia of the late Gustavo Cerati, who was the band’s vocalist, the videos presented in the middle of the songs made those present feel many mixed emotions. In addition to that, they were able to enjoy Cerati’s posthumous on-screen accompaniment in songs like “Sobredosis de TV”, “Ciudad de la furia”, “Fue”, and “Primavera cero”.
The same screens also brought us, other artists, to the concert who gave their own personal touch to the songs of Soda Stereo, honoring their songs and career in their own way. Under the modality of artists invited by video, Juanes performed “Prófugos”, Julieta Venegas sang “Signos”, Mon Laferte sang “Un millón de años luz”, Benito Cerati, the son of the late vocalist Gustavo Cerati, performed “Zoom” , and Fernando Ruiz Díaz sang “Persiana Americana”. Other artists who were present virtually were León Larregui, Alvaro Enriquez, Walas, Adrián Dárgelos, Gustavo Santaolalla, and to close the night with a bang we saw how once again Chris Martin surprised us singing “Música Ligera” along with videos of Gustavo Cerati.
“Thank you for all the years you gave us of love and accompanying us. We are what we are because of you, so we will be eternally grateful,” said Alberti. Visibly emotional Bosio added: “Thanks to life that I knew how to meet this boy, Alberti, and Gustavo. We’ve had some amazing years and it’s great that we’re sharing this with you today. Thank you Gustavo for these songs that are still playing, thank you!”
