You may think dressing is easier for men than for ladies, after all men have fewer options don’t they? However, for men to look truly stylish, it is the small details that make the difference and that is not so easy to master. For example, our topic for today is about the correct size for ties knots… small tie knot or big tie knot?!
Many Casa de Campo Gents have been asking us if they should be wearing large tie knots or little tie knots and the time has come to answer that question. Let’s see what the expert says about this.
“Although some understand it to be a thing of taste and personal style, it is NOT! Turns out that the size of your tie knot should have nothing to do with personal preference, but more to do with your shirt collar. The golden rule is: An open or wide collar gap needs a big knot, while a closed or small collar gap requires a small knot.”
Let’s take a look at some examples:
Collar Shirts Types
For Small Tie knots

For Big tie knots

REMEMBER: The collar should be suited to your tie. So, If you have a thick or wide tie, get a collar which has more space for it. If it is a thin tie, get a collar with less space in between.
