This Saturday, December 8th at 6pm, (yes one more thing to add to our busy holiday schedules), Shine “concept store” in Altos de Chavón will be celebrating their official inauguration. This inauguration will feature special guest, Alex Hamdan, a Miami fashion designer and Univision’s Despierta America Fashion Expert, all accompanied by a few drinks and hors d’oeuvres! Concept stores are retail stores that go beyond selling products; they appeal to a lifestyle. Products and services are carefully chosen and delicately selected with passion, under the motto of “all under one roof.” Concept stores are widely popular in the chic cities of Paris, Milan and New York and fortunately for us, Shine, the first concept store in the Dominican Republic will be opening in Altos de Chavón –  under the expert supervision of co-owners and Casa de Campo residents; Consuelo Matos and Yovanka Saladin.

Shine is not your average boutique, it offers a cybercafe, great design books, accent furniture pieces, Roberto Cavalli and Missoni home collections, world famous GAS bijoux accessories imported  from France, a snack bar with “picaderas” such as alfajores and boutique cupcakes, natural organic juices, herbalife supplement shakes and it even offers beauty services for your hair and nails – as well as endermologie. The “Andy Warhol” type Madonna graffiti, that decorates the front of the room, sets the mood and is able to create a vibrant, welcoming ambiance. The white walls, the eclectic decor, the cozy environment and the hanging crystal chandelier in the center of the room, also builds a state of relaxation. In addition, Shine will host events and expositions for new talents every month. This month Mary Rosa Jimenez and Rocio Jimenez, both Dominican Republic natives and world-renowned artists, will be featured with exclusive art around the store. Shine will also offer the highly in demand Endermolab LPG, a machine that gives hope to us all – in the battle to end our cellulite nightmares! This machine is also used to treat torn ligaments and sports injury, to redefine curves and can even perform face-lifts! With a machine like this, I would probably never leave the store!

“Endermolab LPG, the do-it all machine”

I was most impressed by the room in the back. I can only describe it as a luxury oasis beauty salon. For those that have a hair obsession, like I do, this is great news. The water used to wash your hair has its own purifying system that removes the sulfate from the water, giving your hair a VIP detox treatment, using your not so “typical” hair washing station. The hair washing station features a 360 degrees chair – your hair will not only be washed from the side, but you will receive a full head massage! The hair blowing stations are equipped with 2 comfortable chairs, and a huge front mirror. Shine also offers full mani and pedi spas which can include paraffin for additional softness. All the products that are used for your hair, face and body are brought directly from France with the finest ingredients. AND as if that wasn’t enough, there is an enormous make-up station, equipped with perfect lighting featuring a very special in-house makeup artist, Tico; well known among Dominican Republic celebrities.

“Training LPG-endermologie session”

This is definitely the “go to” store for all of us that love to be spoiled and pampered or simply looking for an escape. Don’t be fooled by all the fancy wording, the prices for all of the beauty services are quite affordable and the most competitive prices in the market! There is so much that Shine offers that I could literally keep writing about it all day – most importantly you need to visit Shine yourself – rest assure once you leave the store you will Shine bright like a diamond!
