On Saturday, Aug. 23, Shalim Ortiz and his band 226 got diners on their feet at the charming Plaza Portofino in the Marina of Casa de Campo. The show paid tribute to the iconic Mexican band Maná, performing some of its greatest hits.
Songs like “En el muelle de San Blas,” “Oye mi amor” and “Labios compartidos” took on new life through Ortiz’s voice and the band’s contagious energy. Chords and choruses echoed through the crowd, many of whom sang along to every line, creating an authentic connection with the legendary repertoire.

The event began at 9 p.m. with Plaza Portofino filled with guests who had reserved tables at the surrounding restaurants to enjoy a special evening.

The venue, located on the shores of the Caribbean Sea, offered the perfect setting for the show, blending the magic of the marina’s evening breeze with the vibrant sound of live music.
It was a family-friendly event: not only adults but entire families, including children, stood up from their seats to enjoy the performance.
As he usually does, Ortiz showcased his versatility as a singer, preserving the essence of the original songs while adding a personal touch and well-executed instrumental arrangements.
The tribute was part of the Marina of Casa de Campo’s monthly concert series, designed to encourage and maximize enjoyment of the space while highlighting everything it has to offer visitors.
