Senses Introductory Wine Tasting Evening at the Casa de Campo Yacht Club

On Friday the 25th of February, before we headed up to Altos de Chavón to sample a little of Gino’s Italian food for their opening, we were at the Casa de Campo Yacht Club for the introductory evening for the Senses Wine and Liquor tasting courses.

The evening began with a pleasant pro-secco on the terrace of the Casa de Campo Yacht Club, where guests mingled and indulged in a little chit chat about the topic of the evening – wine. We didn’t have to wait long however before the main event of the evening began – the introductory speech by Cecilia Gadea, who will be running the ‘Senses’courses to be held in the Casa de Campo Yacht Club over the next few months.

I must admit I don’t have a big passion about wine or more specifically wine tasting myself (I like to be given what is good and then I enjoy it, nice and simple), however Cecilia did give a very engaging and interesting speech, talking about what kind of wines go with what and why and although I don’t think I’ll ever be much of a sommelier myself I will admit them I am tempted to enroll on the course, Cecilia certainly made it sound like a lot of fun!

The schedule for the wine and liquor tasting courses are as follows:

ABC WINE Experience 1
When: Friday 11th, 18th  and 25th of March, 6pm-8:30pm
Price: USD$95 per person (Casa de Campo Yacht Club members are entitled to a 5% discount)

Spirit Experience 1
When: Friday 15th of April, 6pm-8:30pm
Price: USD$60 per person (Casa de Campo Yacht Club members are entitled to a 5% discount)

Spirit Experience 2
When: Friday 29th of April, 6pm-8:30pm
Price: USD$75 per person (Casa de Campo Yacht Club members are entitled to a 5% discount)
