Last week from Monday February 2nd through to Friday February 6th, Casa de Campo played host to some Unusually Thicke characters – the Thicke family, who just happen to be the stars of reality TV show/sitcom, Unusually Thicke.
Unusually Thicke stars Alan Thicke, most famous as the father figure in the 80’s sitcom Growing Pains, who is also the father of Robin Thicke, who we all know from 2014’s sexiest hit song, “Blurred Lines”. Unusually Thicke follows the hilarious, action-packed and dramatic daily lives of Alan’s real life family, and stars Alan, his 3rd wife (of 14 years) Tanya Thicke and his son, Carter Thicke, and they just finished filming the finale of season 2 in Casa de Campo.
As good friends of Casa de Campo villa owners, Matthew Parento and Edward De Valle II, the Thicke family choose Casa de Campo for many reasons, “it’s somewhere I’ve always wanted to visited, especially because Oscar de la Renta designed my wedding dress” Tanya Thicke told Casa de Campo Living, while Alan Thicke added; “I have great memories of Casa de Campo from when I visited in the 1990’s with a celebrity group including Alec Baldwin, Sharon Stone and Bruce Jenner, I actually beat Bruce Jenner on the Teeth of the Dog, he’s never forgotten that.”
The episode shot in Casa de Campo last week follows the family’s vacation in paradise – part of their celebrations for Tanya’s 40th birthday. Scenes include Tanya’s birthday dinner at La Casita restaurant in the Marina Casa de Campo, a shooting lesson at the Casa de Campo Shooting Center, and of course the family being welcomed to Casa de Campo by Mathew and Edward who hosted the group in their Casa de Campo villa for the duration of their stay.
This second season of Unusually Thicke will be aired on on HGTV (Canada) & POP, formerly TVGN (US). As soon as we know when we will let you know.
Here’s a few of my own behind the scenes shots from their time in Casa de Campo, as well as some pics shared by @mathewparento, @tanyathicke and @carterthicke on Instagram:
