Save the date and get ready for the numerous fun activities that will be taking place on Friday and Saturday the the 15th and 16th of February 2013 in celebration of the 16th annual Hogar del Niño Fundraising Weekend in Casa de Campo – in aid of this beautiful day care and educational center in La Romana!
Each year, the Hogar del Niño celebrates the beautiful Hogar del Niño Fundraising Weekend event, bringing joy, not only to the hundreds of children and babies who are educated and cared for daily at this marvelous center, but to the many Casa de Campo residents, visitors and supporters who have the opportunity of enjoying two days of fun and entertainment for the whole family and all for a great cause!!
At last year’s Hogar del Niño Fundraising Weekend, guests enjoyed; a visit to the Hogar del Niño day care and educational center, as well as golf, polo and tennis tournaments, an exciting bike marathon, and even a Zumba Master Class – ending with the prize-giving ceremony and dinner at the La Romana Country Club!
Last year, the 15th Hogar del Niño Fundraising Weekend took place on Friday and Saturday the 17th and 18th of February – a wonderful celebration which was “conservation themed” (with some breathtaking decorations) and dedicated to the Hogar del Niño’s “Zona Verde”, an informal education pavilion where the children participate in extracurricular activities such as drama and music.
Although the Hogar del Niño is still working on the details for the 16th Hogar del Niño Fundraising Weekend, here we share the essentials:

The Hogar del Niño
The Hogar del Niño is a children’s daycare and educational center for over 1500 children, located in La Romana town, just outside of Casa de Campo. Children from as young as just a few weeks old up to 18 years old are cared for and educated daily, from as early as 5:30am and staying as late as 7pm.
The organization also provides special schooling to over 75 hearing impaired and blind children, as well as a vocational school where over 235 students receive classes in different areas like: sewing; industrial preparation, installation and electrical maintenance; plumbing and management of computer office programs.
