Everybody has different ways and traditions to celebrate Father’s Day. This year the Cultural Club of Dr. Evangelina Rodríguez Perozo prepared something special for all fathers and their families of the La Altagracia area.

This club, which works in improving the development of education, health and recreation facilities for the youth of San Rafael de Yuma, organized a Taino craft fair, that not only exulted their heritage, but also promoted their beautiful crafts which is a big part of commerce in this town.
The fair took place from Saturday the 27th of July to Sunday the 28th and apart from the selling of crafts, also offered food, games, sports and the unique opportunity of being the first to have access to the newly released novel of Heberto Giordano Castillo, President of the Club , “El Caminante”.
The event, which began with an inauguration act was one of fun and family enjoyment as they were also able to enjoy watching some professional boxing – always a good father-son bonding activity- and was also quite quaint as everything was set up to imitate the Taino way of life with the use of the typical “bohios” and taino sculptures.
