Tomorrow, Saturday the 10th of December, Casa de Campo is bringing the magical legend of Santa Claus to Altos de Chavón – with the arrival of SinterKlaas, the grandfather of the Dominican Santa Claus, who will assist with the Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony at the Altos de Chavón amphitheater.

The magical legend of Sinterklaas
Sinterklaas, who is as old as time itself is from the Netherlands, an elderly man, who dresses elegantly in a long red cape and rides a beautiful white horse. On December 5th, children place their shoe in front of the fireplace and Sinterklaas delivers presents to all the “good” children and he takes all the “bad” children away with him to Spain!
Sinterklaas is the keeper of the “Christmas Book” – where a list of all the nice and naughty children are kept!

Sinterklaas to save Christmas in Casa de Campo!
Just as Sinterklaas was about to return to Spain (with all the bad children), he received an alarming text from his grandson Santa Claus in the Dominican Republic “HELP! The children here in the Dominican Republic no longer believe in Santa!” So, he decided to fly all the way to Casa de Campo to help the Dominican Santa start the festivities in Casa de Campo! Hurrah!

Sinterklaas is already on his way to Casa de Campo, it’s a long journey – this is what he’s been up to:
• Whilst at the Hotel Okura in Amsterdam he touched base with Father Christmas in Great Britain and Kris Kringle in Germany

• In New York, he met with Santa Claus at The Pierre
• And finally on today (Saturday), Sinterklaas will catch a JetBlue flight to Casa de Campo in the Dominican Republic where he will apear on stage at the amphitheater to help launch the holiday season with his grandson Santa Claus!

• SinterKlaas will appear in the Altos de Chavón Amphitheater to help with the Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony (taking place following the Nutcracker ballet – which starts at 7pm)
