Fantastic news! We have just heard a wonderful RUMOR that the one and only Julio Iglesias is planning a performance in the Altos de Chavón amphitheater this December!

UPDATE: This concert has now been CONFIRMED – click here for details!

According to rumors, the performance is being scheduled for Friday December the 28th 2012, the height of the Casa de Campo “high-season” and will be (assuming this RUMOR is true) the very BEST way to celebrate Christmas and the New Year!

Julio Iglesias, the world-famous Spanish singer and songwriter whose romantic image, magnetic stage presence, and expressive music has made him one of the best-selling artists of all time, is currently performing in major cities all over the world as part of his World Tour to promote his latest album “Julio Iglesias 1”, a compilation of his biggest hits from his 44 years in the music industry, released on November 22nd 2011.

Since his world tour began in February of this year, Julio Iglesias has performed in Argentina, Bahrain, Chile, Venezuela, Peru, Moldavia, the Czech Republic and Bulgaria, and is currently performing in a series of concerts across Spain throughout July and August.

According to his official website (www.julioiglesias.com), no further dates have yet been released for the continuation of his tour, but as the star owns property, including a stunning villa in Punta Cana in the East of the Dominican Republic, where according to wikipedia.org; “he spends most of the year when he is not on tour” – Altos de Chavón certainly does seem like a possible venue for the Christmas portion of his tour.

IF this fabulous rumor is indeed true, this will not be the first time Julio Iglesias performs at the Altos de Chavón amphitheater. In April 2007, the Spanish heart-throb performed to more than 5,000 fans in an epic sold-out concert, during which the legendary casanova not only kissed and embraced his backing singers, the children of the Fundación MIR who presented him with flowers and his good friend and Dominican designer, Oscar de la Renta, but also declared “the Dominican Republic feels like my own country,” and performed a string of his most popular classics; “El amor”, “La vida sigue igual”, “Hey”, “Me olvidé de vivir”, “A media luz”,“Abrázame”, among many others.

On the 28th of December 2012, should this rumor be true there can be no doubt that, Julio Iglesias’ return to Altos de Chavón will be equally spectacular and unforgettable as his previous performance, as well as the “return” performances of fellow musicians; Carlos Santana, Duran Duran and Sting – all of whom loved the ambience, ecoustics and of course their Dominican fans, so much that they just had to return for a second performance!

This is a RUMOR, this concert has sadly NOT YET BEEN CONFIRMED – but as soon as we know more, we will let you know!
