In May we announced the “Romana in Colors” painting course, but now having received so many applicants from overseas, Carmen Sone the Casa de Campo villa owner organizing the event has re-structured the activity slightly to be a “painting and cultural workshop” which will now run from the 7th to the 10th of August.
The central aspect of the activity continues to be the painting classes which led by recognized artist Jane Slivka, will take place over 2 days (August 8th and 9th) and will run on a daily schedule from 9am to 5pm.
In addition to the painting, those taking part are invited to take part in a number of other cultural group activities: a welcome cocktail at the Beach Club by Le Cirque at Minitas Beach, a visit to Altos de Chavón, and a “Past & Present” city tour of Santo Domingo.
Whether you consider yourself an artist or not this is a great opportunity to do something new and different – by the end of the course you will have a painting of your own and will have undoubtedly made some new friends… and maybe even uncovered a hidden talent! You never know – you could be the next Picasso!
Spaces are limited so reserve now!

About Jane Slivka
Jane Slivka’s passion takes people on a journey, through the layered acrylic paints and oversized canvases, to a world beyond what a photo could capture. She graduated from Ohio University with a Bachelor’s degree in Art Education, and now teaches workshops all over the country.
Her gallery / studio is located in Historic Downtown Mount Dora, Florida, where she finds inspiration for new bodies of work from her students, her love of the ocean and people, and through the play of light and shadows on old buildings. Jane is a gifted artist, bringing paint to life with ease and elegance.
