Casa de Campo Polo Challenge 2016

This post is also available in: Spanish

We have been treated to so much good polo lately! I personally have become quite the regular and have picked up a few tidbits about the sport. Last Saturday was no exception; and Ritmo Platinum sponsored the snazzy event. Ritmo Platinum, a quarterly magazine publication, which is a more ‘classy’ version of the Ritmo Social magazine, dedicated this quarter issue to polo. Guest enjoyed browsing the latest issue and reading player interviews in cozy lounge chairs under the tent while gazing on at the day’s live action. Casa de Campo Polo Challenge 2016 Ever so fitting, during halftime we were entertained by a drum show. What a rhythm! Audience participation was welcome and thoroughly enjoyed. The game between Casa de Campo and Pitirre was intense and very aggressive, one could not take their eyes off the field! Brilliant moves by Pieres, Araya and Donoso led the team into a strong start and finished with great plays by Collardin in the second half. I was surprised to learn that about 6,000 balls are estimated to be used during the matches!! Casa de Campo Polo Challenge 2016 It was a pleasant and breezy day to be outside, and was wonderful to be with family and friends. I especially loved seeing the players’ families out supporting them! Attendees also had the chance to try Glen Scotia scotch, El Mayor tequila and Blue Moon beer, as well as view the luxurious collection of Jaeger Lecoultre watches on display. Casa de Campo Polo Challenge 2016 As the cherry on top, the day brought with it a big win for the Casa de Campo Team! See the excellent pictures below recapping all the fun and stay tuned as more polo goodness is coming our way! The semi-finals start tomorrow with Casa de Campo vs. Agualinda in Lechuza Caracus!
