The amateur Rhadamés Peña once again won this year’s National Stroke Play Championships of the Dominican Golf Federation, which this year celebrated its 55th edition and was played at the Teeth of the Dog, The Links, and Dye Fore courses, an event that had more than 250 players in four days.
Peña finished with four rounds of 69+72+68+68, totaling 277. The Rhadames barbarian signed three cards under 70, the only player to do so in the tournament, which had Dominican and foreign players, from countries like Argentina, Venezuela, the United States, and Puerto Rico, with the sponsorship of Banreservas Mastercard Cards as an official sponsor.
Julio Santos won the Professional category, with scores of 72+67+72+68. On Friday he signed a card of 67, the best round of the tournament. He took home 300,000 pesos, from a bag of 600,000 that the tournament gave, thanks to the CEMCA Group.

In the Mid-Amateur category, Andrés Marranzini went end to end with 75+71+71+73. In the AA, Julio Ureña with 79+77+83+79 was the best player. Senior A was dominated by Mark Woodward with rounds of 80+76+78+76.
Once again Maireni Bournigal does it by dominating Super Senior A, after signing cards of 79+80+77+79.
General Categories
In C, Jorge Luis Castillo triumphed with 94+90+89, while Senior B was won by Fernando De La Cruz, after finishing with rounds of 80+90+87. The same Andrés Farach Olavarrieta, who compiled cards of 81 + 83 + 90. Alex Osborne took a stick from Andrés Dilonex, to be crowned in Super Senior B, by 258 strokes.
While in D, Luis Ballester won with 110 points, in the Stableford category. Just like Modesto Díaz, who won Senior C, after compiling 115.
Among the B Ladies, Lilli Downer won with 242 strokes in three rounds of play.
It is worth mentioning that the Professional category in the National Championships adds points for the Canita Tour, which gives a spot for the PGA Tour de Corales Punta Cana tournament.
Erick Morales scored a historic hole-in-one on the 5th hole of The Links course on Saturday.
The National Championships in its LV version had the official sponsorship of Mastercard Banreservas Cards. Also sponsors Casa de Campo, Comercial Karros, Higüeral, Alaska, Cervecería Vegana, Induban, United Brands, La Aurora and Productos Chef.
