Rainy Day? Netflix Binge!

With all the rain we’ve been having this January, we thought we would create a list of binge-worthy Netflix shows to save the day from boredom when the next storm strikes!

Black Mirror

Black Mirror just released its fourth season and it continues to be as thrilling as the first three. The British sci-fi anthology series examines modern society through standalone episodes that take place in the near future or alternate present day universes. The show has a dark, satirical tone to it and often is a commentary on modern day issues with an experimental twist. Sometimes scary, always thought-provoking, Black Mirror is a series that will keep you attentive and on your toes.

Stranger Things

Stranger Things, now a two part series, has amassed a mega cult fanbase and continues to be a critically acclaimed trending topic in pop culture.  Set in the midwest in the 80’s, this dramatic thriller’s first season follows the disappearance of a young boy from a town with strange supernatural occurrences.  The young boys friends, with help from a gifted girl, work to solve his mysterious disappearance, unveiling truths about their beloved home. The second season, just released, dives deeper into the characters and living life after the discovery of the supernatural among them. This series is filled with suspense and is a nostalgic homage to 80’s pop culture.  

The Good Place

The Good Place is a fantasy comedy that takes place in the afterlife. A woman wakes up in a heaven-like utopia designed for those who have lived a righteous life. She soon realizes however that she is there by mistake and must hide her immoral behavior and learn to become a better person in order to avoid being sent to “The Bad Place”. The show is a light-hearted and witty comedy that will keep your spirits up!


Mindhunter is a crime show based in the 70’s that follows two FBI agents who are dedicated to expanding knowledge on criminal science.  In order to learn about the psychology behind murder, the agents travel to different high-security prisons around the United States interviewing sociopaths up close and personal. The series delves into the complexity of crime while developing the characters and maintaining a dramatic and suspenseful storyline.


Ozark is an intense crime drama that tells the story of a financial advisor from Chicago that must secretly relocate his family to the the lake region of Missouri, the Ozarks, after getting into trouble with a drug cartel. Each member of the family deals with the abrupt move in their own way, and must learn to stick together and work together in trying times. The show focuses on the sacrifices one must make and the extremes one will go to for security and safety. The plot has many twists and shocking moments that will keep you engaged throughout.

The Crown

The Crown is a historical drama that follows Queen Elizabeth II journey behind the scenes as the new Queen. The script of the show was written after immense research, and reveals true events that occured behind the public eye. The Crown opens the door to historical events with a masterful plot that begins with the British Empire in decline and a new era on the horizon.  The Crown follows Queen Elizabeth II’s political rivalries, romances, and challenges she faced in her life running an empire.

Master of None

Master of None is a comedy-drama that follows the personal and professional life of Dev, a 30 year old Indian actor living in New York City.  His life is filled with humorous and meaningful events that are relatable for everyone. The show offers a unique take on cultural differences, dating life, the business world, and life in New York City in a light-hearted and comedic way.

Chef’s table

Chef’s table may be a cooking show, but it is unlike most you see on television. This series takes you insides the lives and kitchens of world renowned international chefs. Each episode focuses on a different chef and gives you an exclusive inside to their passions, inspirations, and of course, their culinary masterpieces. This show offers so much more than just food, it shows the artistry and mastery of being a chef and will leave you inspired! And salivating for more!


Elementary is a mystery series that follows a contemporary, modern day Sherlock Holmes living in New York City. Sherlock, a recovering drug addict, and his handler, Joan Watson, work alongside the New York Police Department solving crimes around the city. Sherlock cleverly spots clues to solve cases that no one else can figure out. This show will keep you guessing and is perfect for those looking to solve mysteries while watching a clever action packed drama.

The Blacklist

The Blacklist is a crime-thriller that starts off with a highly articulate man on the “10 Most Wanted” list, Raymond “Red” Reddington, surrendering himself to the FBI and demanding a conversation with Elizabeth Keen, a fresh out of Quantico criminal profiler. Red tells the FBI that he has accumulated a list, The Blacklist, of the world’s worst criminals and wishes to help catch them all. The show is a clever action packed thriller with different plot twists and storylines that will keep you entertained and surprised with each episode.
