The second edition of the Latin American Amateur Championship (LAAC) will be held from 14th to the 17th of January 2016 on the Teeth of the Dog, and as a prelude to this major sporting event, last weekend, Saturday the 22nd and Sunday the 23rd of August, the Dominican Golf Federation held the first stop of the qualifier tour for the high-performance categories.
Thirty-six players took part in this first qualifying round of the Latin American Amateur Championship (LAAC) held on the Teeth of the Dog. These qualifying rounds, consisting of four tournaments, will serve to eliminate players until only 2 players remain, who will then represent the Dominican Republic in the LAAC in 2016.
Juan Cayro Delgado, was the best of the first qualifier round totaling 78 and 68 to round off 146 strokes, followed by Hiram Silfa, who finished with 153 strokes (80 and 73), and tied with George Riley (78 and 75).
These qualifier rounds will continue with great intensity and pressure until the grand event to be held in January. The next round will be held on September 19th and 20th at the legendary Teeth of the Dog.
